Encaustic Landscapes

I have been exploring encaustics lately. I spent some time learning how to use a few new tools last week, and completed these small landscapes. The colors are very rich, and the technique is very demanding. It is easy to ruin a picture completely, and although it is possible to melt the wax, it is almost impossible to fix mistakes when using an iron - the entire painting must be removed and started over again.

These samples are 4x6 inches on card stock.
